History
For over 2000 years, auriculotherapy- or ear acupuncture- has been utilized in China for the successful management of a wide variety of conditions. In the West, the most common application of auriculotherapy is for nicotine addiction.
At All in Good Health, the doctors employ these ancient principles, but with a modern twist. Instead of utilizing needles to stimulate the acupuncture points, cold lasers are used. This provides for a completely non-invasive approach for the management of nicotine addictions.
Session
The visit consists of an interview with the doctor regarding the history of the smoking habit- the longer the addiction, the longer it usually takes to receive permanent results. After the interview, the program is begun which consists of the cold laser stimulation of very specific acupuncture points located on the face and ears of the patient. Other individualized points may be chosen in addition to the points on the ears and face, at the discretion of the doctor.
The treatment is completely safe and non-invasive- most people do not even feel the laser as it is being applied.
After the session is complete, at the doctor's discretion, advice may be given to the patient regarding various behavioral modifications that may increase the success of the program.
In most cases, one session is all that is needed, although a booster session one month later is recommended to prevent relapse. As stated before though, the longer the addiction, the longer it usually takes to achieve permanent results.
