Cold laser therapy, also known as low-level laser therapy, and soft laser therapy, refers to the application of extremely low powered laser light therapy for the treatment of a variety of health conditions.
The term cold laser is used to distinguish it from the other types of higher-powered lasers that are being utilized in medicine today. These higher-powered lasers work by heating up body tissues, thereby causing damage to them. The lower-powered cold lasers, on the other hand, work by stimulating and speeding up the healing of the body tissues, with no tissue damage whatsoever.
In addition to the acceleration of tissue repair, cold lasers are effective in providing relief from pain, decreasing inflammation, improving function of damaged neurological tissue, and to non-invasively stimulate acupuncture points.
At All in Good Health, we utilize the same cold laser as used by Jeff Spencer, DC, chiropractor to such elite athletes as Lance Armstrong and Tiger Woods. We are dedicated to providing our patients with the most up-to-date and effective treatment options available.
